Raleigh Farmers' Markets Durham Farmers' Markets

The Chapel Hill area has a thriving network of local farmers' markets, where a stunning array of locally-grown produce is available, and is often sold by the farmer who grew it.

Here's a list of Chapel Hill area farmers' markets that feature 100% locally-grown produce, and allow vendors to sell only goods that they have produced themselves. Most of these markets operate only during the peak of North Carolina's growing season, which run approximately from April through November.

1. Carrboro Farmers' Market

301 W. Main St., Carrboro
Carrboro Farmers' Market is the "Big Daddy" of local farmers' markets. It is one of the oldest, most popular and "best stocked" farmers' markets in the area.
It is open year 'round (Saturday market only--the Wednesday market operates seasonally), and is the place to find everything from organic produce and plants to all-natural beef. Be forewarned--the most popular items at the market often sell out, and the parking situation at Carrboro Farmers' market can be horrendous, so get there as early in day as you can!
Market Hours:
Saturday-- 7:00 a.m.-12:00 noon regular season, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon in winter.
Wednesday--3:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m.
