Here's our list of 2010 Santa Sightings. From photos with Santa at Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill malls to surprise visits at local libraries, there are lots of chances for your children to whisper a holiday wish list to the man in red.
  • Crabtree Valley Mall, Raleigh Photos with Santa begin November 13
  • Triangle Town Center Photos with Santa November 5-December 24 Every Tuesday night in November, you can bring in your pet for a photo with Santa. Also check the website for a "Santa Fast Pass" that will allow you to skip the long lines.
  • Streets at Southpoint, Durham Photos with Santa November 20-December 24
  • Northgate Mall, Durham Photos with Santa begin November 20. Santa arrival and parade November 20, 10:45 a.m. Paws and Claus - photo opportunity for pets with Santa. December 5, 7-9 p.m.
  • Cary Towne Center, Cary Photos with Santa begin November 20. Santa Paws photos November 15 and December 6, 7-9 p.m.
  • North Hills Mall, Raleigh Santa photos November 27-December 19.
  • Univeristy Mall, Chapel Hill Photos with Santa November 20-December 24
  • NC Museum of Life and Science, Durham Santa Train Tickets on Sale November 17 An annual holiday tradition, the Ellerbee Creek train ride travels to the Museum's North Pole where children meet Santa and enjoy holiday music, hot chocolate and crafts at the Santa Train station. The Santa Train runs 16 nights in December. Purchase tickets online or by phone.
  • Town of Cary Letters to Santa starting November 29 Santa’s Mailbox will again be located in Town Hall. We’ve made special arrangements with Santa Claus for Cary Town Hall to be a drop off site for letters to Santa Claus! Have little Johnny and Suzie enjoy this annual tradition as we prepare for Santa’s flight over Cary. Drop off your letters in the Santa Mailbox before December 17th and your child will hear back from our jolly friend in red! Make sure to include your child’s name and address on each letter.
  • Cameron Village Regional Library, Raleigh Raleigh City Ballet Nutcracker Storytime November 19 See dancers performing scenes from the holiday ballet and learn some of the dances. Wear ballet attire or danceable clothes. Ages 3-5. 10:30 a.m.
  • Quail Ridge Books & Music, Raleigh December 4 Come visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus Bring your camera! 10 a.m.
  • Duke Homestead, Durham December 3 Christmas by Candlelight, 7-9 p.m. Celebrate an 1870 Christmas during evening tours of the Duke Homestead. The tour features period decorations, caroling, hot apple cider, dancing, a visit from Santa, and other fun. Admission is free, but donations will be graciously accepted.
  • Durham County Library, Durham December 22 Visit From Santa 10:30-11:30 a.m. Skip the crowded malls and come meet Santa at the Durham County Library! Hear a story, sing songs, and tell Santa what you want for Christmas. A free picture with Santa for all! All children must pre-register prior to the day of the event. (919) 560-0100
  • Washington Duke Inn, Durham December 5 Nutcracker Tea 3 p.m. Cordially invites you to attend our annual Nutcracker Tea 3-4:30 p.m.Meet Clara and the Sugarplum Fairy while enjoying splendid sweets. Enjoy a preview of the upcoming Holiday Spectacular December 17-19 at Duke's Reynolds Theatre. $25/person (ages 3-adult welcome).
