The Carolina Hurricanes are a National Hockey League team that is based in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Hurricanes, affectionately referred to as the 'Canes, play their games at Raleigh's RBC Center, which can hold over 18,000 fans ("Caniacs"). The Carolina Hurricanes are owned by Peter Karmanos Jr., the founder of Compuware.

2008 Carolina Hurricane's Schedule

The Carolina Hurricanes franchise was formerly the Hartford Whalers team. However, due to low game attendance and the desire for a new stadium for the team, the Whalers/Hurricanes moved to North Carolina in 1997. The Hurricanes played their first two seasons ('97-'98 and '98-'99) in Greensboro , NC at the Greensboro Coliseum. The Carolina Hurricanes then moved to the brand new RBC Center (which was called the Entertainment and Sports Arena at the time) for the 1999-2000 season.

Since their move to North Carolina, the Hurricanes have played some great hockey! In fact, in the spring of 2006, the Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Edmonton Oilers to win the NHL's Stanley Cup, making them the first professional sports team in North Carolina to win a national title.

Carolina Hurricane's Tickets can be purchased at the RBC Center Box Office. A buy one get one free coupon is available in the Raleigh Entertainment Book(Buy Direct).
