David Cutcliffe has been the head coach of the Duke Blue Devils Football team since December, 2007. He replaced Ted Roof, who had been the Duke Football coach for four years, and had coached the team to a 6-45 win-loss record. According to Duke University President Richard Brodhead, Cutcliffe was hired with the intent of "restoring excitement and a winning tradition to Duke football".

Before he joined the Duke Football program, Mr. Cutcliffe was the head football coach of the University of Mississippi's Ole Miss Rebels for six full seasons, from 1998 to 2004. While at Ole Miss, Cutcliffe coached Eli Manning, who has gone on to be a star quarterback and Superbowl MVP player.

Prior to his time at Ole Miss, Cutcliffe was on the coaching staff of the University of Tennessee's football program (1982-98). From 2004-2006, Cutcliffe returned to Tennessee to be the Vols' offensive coordinator. During his early time at Tennessee, Cutcliffe coached Peyton Manning, who also has since gone on to win a Superbowl MVP award.

David Cutcliffe is a native of Birmingham, AL, and a graduate of the University of Alabama. He and his wife have four children.
