North Carolina makes it easy for residents to vote in local and national elections. However, residents must be registered voters in order to cast their ballot on Election Day. Voters who have not yet registered to vote can take advantage of North Carolina's one-stop voting system, which allows voters to register on the same day they vote.

The only catch? One-stop voting is available during the "early voting" period, which takes place during the two week period from 19 days before Election Day to three days before Election Day.
