Duke vs. Carolina Men's Basketball

March 8, 2009 at 4:00 p.m.
Dean E. Smith Center at UNC-Chapel Hill
300 Skipper Bowles Dr , Chapel Hill

Although it may be difficult (and cost-prohibitive) to get one of the more than 21,000 tickets for this end-of-season rivalry game, it's destined to be one of the Triangle's biggest sporting events of the year. If you can't make it to the game in person, you can watch it at one of the many sports bars in the Triangle, or at home on CBS.

And don't forget to wear your Carolina (Buy Direct) or Duke (Buy Direct) Clothing to the game!

A Toast to the Triangle

Sunday, March 8, 2009
NC State University McKimmon Center
5:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

Enjoy sampling wine, specialty beers and food from over 40 Triangle-area restaurants and catering companies including Angus Barn, The Mint, and Carolina Brewing Company. A Toast to the Triangle is a charitable event that benefits the Tammy Lynn Memorial Foundation, Inc. which is an organization that sponsors programs for children with developmental disabilities. Tickets are $100 and can be purchased online

Raleigh Spy Conference

March 25-27, 2009
NC Museum of History
5 East Edenton St. , Raleigh

If you love James Bond movies, secret message decoders, spy novels, or any other "spooky" stuff, add the Raleigh Spy Conference to your March calendar! The conference's speakers will include former CIA counter-intelligence specialist Brian J. Kelley, espionage researcher Terry Crowdy, and former FBI secret-agent in-charge I.C. Smith.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the speakers at the conference's social events and book signings. This is going to sound a bit strange, but the registration fee for the conference is $250 for men and $125 for women, presumably because the theme of this year's conference is the role of women in espionage, which the event's organizers refer to as "sexpionnage".
