Halloween in the Raleigh-Durham area is a fun and spooky time for kids and adults alike! From the all-night partying on Chapel Hill's Franklin Street, to the family-friendly Halloween parties at venues throughout the area, you're sure to find your brand of spooky Halloween fun in the Triangle!

Corn Mazes

There are several corn mazes in the Raleigh-Durham area. Triangle-area corn mazes are fun for the whole family. In addition to providing hours of a-maze-ing exploration, some of them also have petting zoos, famers markets or other attractions on site. If you're looking for an extra-spooky time, make sure to visit one of the local corn mazes at night. Don't forget to bring your flashlight!

Costume Shops

Looking for the ultimate costume? Try one of Raleigh-Durham's costume shops: they're sure to have the costume that you're looking for. Some of the shops even stock costumes for pets!

Pumpkin Patches

What's Halloween without pumpkins? There are plenty of pumpkin patches in the Raleigh-Durham area, so you're sure to find that perfect pumpkin! Many of the pumpkin patches even have hayrides and other attraction onsite.

Family-Friendly Halloween Events

The Raleigh-Durham area has plenty of family-friendly Halloween events. The events run the gamut from tame (bobbing for apples and costume contests) to downright spooky (haunted trolley rides and cemetery tours). However, they are all geared to be family-friendly.

Trick-or-Treating

Trick-or-treating in the Raleigh-Durham area can be hit or miss, which is why many Triangle residents attend family-friendly Halloween events instead. However if your heart is set on trick-or-treating, be aware that some of Raleigh-Durham's neighborhoods have no Halloween activities at all, while others such as Meadowmont in Chapel Hill and Raleigh's Historic Oakwood, are often jam-packed with trick-or-treaters.

Haunted Houses

Raleigh-Durham's Haunted Houses are seriously scary! Many of them are not recommended for children under 12 years of age, although the events run by local municipalities tend to have gentle thrills that are more appropriate for younger children.
