A friend and I stopped at Ruckus to enjoy a quick bite to eat on a Friday evening. Although we were tempted to split a whole pie, we opted to buy individual slices instead. At $2.10 each, they were a bargain! Each one was about as big as an individual-serving pizza at most pizza joints, and I had to fold mine in half to even have a chance at eating it without making a huge mess.The pizza was good, but definitely tasted like it was reheated and had been sitting around for a while--the crust had lost the chewy, crusty goodness that I imagine it had once had. A freshly-made pie would have probably been much yummier. The sauce was tangy, bordering on spicy. The cheese topping was sparse, but that's what I expect from NY-style pizza.
Even at 7:00 p.m., most of the seats in the dark, narrow bar were taken, mostly by college-aged patrons with lots of piercings and tattoos. The flat-screen TVs above the bar were tuned to several variations of MTV and ESPN.
The service at Ruckus Pizza and Bar was much friendlier and efficient than I imagined it would be. Even though the staff doesn't say much more than "sure, man", service was prompt and the staff genuinely seemed to want to make our Ruckus dining experience a good one. Ruckus Pizza and Bar is a great place to go if you want to sit back and take the time to really enjoy a slice and a brew (or a pitcher of brew!).
