The Triangle Food Tour is a great activity for Raleigh-Durham residents who want to meet new friends while breaking out of a dining rut or who are looking for a good activity to share with a date or with visiting friends and family. Visitors and newcomers to Raleigh will also enjoy this tour, whose route winds through historic Raleigh neighborhoods such as Blount Street Commons and Oakwood, and lets visitors enjoy great views of The North Carolina Executive Mansion, The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, Moore Square and many other points of interest.
Along the way, a knowledgeable guide helps tour participants learn about downtown Raleigh 's history and attractions, and keeps everyone moving from restaurant to restaurant. The tour covers a lot of ground (10-12 restaurants in three hours), so participants need to be fit enough to walk at least a mile at a moderate pace--even on a full stomach!
The Triangle Food Tour takes place every Thursday morning at 9:00 and every Saturday at 2:30 p.m. It departs from Capital City Grocery--Food Tour participants are instructed to meet on the grocery store's front porch a few minutes before their scheduled tour time. Tickets are $38, and must be purchased in advance.
The Triangle Food Tour generally takes place rain or shine. However, in the case of severe storms, the tour will be canceled and participants will get a rain check.
