Cary, North Carolina is the town that thinks like Wall Street and feels like Main Street. From 'Hottest Town in America' to 'Best Place to Raise a Family,' Cary attains more than its fair share of annual accolades. Home to divisions of John Deere, Oxford University Press and Cisco Systems, Cary is also the worldwide headquarters of SASS.
The town is a planned community organized around planned unit developments (PUDs), which feature large public green spaces, well-thought out traffic patterns and large lot sizes. The first of these, Kildaire Farms, was developed in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The community has more than 2,500 residential units, a greenway system with jogging trails and bike paths, the Kildaire Farms Raquet and Swim Club and the Cary Athletic Club. Other PUDs in Cary include Regency Park with both commercial and residential sections, Lochmere featuring several different neighborhoods in various price ranges built around a lake, and Preston which is home to the Prestonwood Country Club.
Cary is well-situated for two career couples as in addition to being home to some of the regions largest employers, it also offers quick commutes to the Research Triangle Park, Raleigh, and Raleigh-Durham International Airport. The town, however, is far from a bedroom community. Excellent restaurants, the world-class Umstead Hotel and Spa, one of the largest art festivals in the southeast, and the summer-home of the NC Symphony are just some of Cary's local amenities. In addition, Cary offers a myriad of opportunities to pusue an active lifestyle with a myriad of walking and biking trails, the 60,000 sq.ft. Triangle Aquatic Center and the 310 acre Bond Metro Bark.
Cary is home to just under 150,000 people and is part of the Wake County School System.
