Barnes Supply Company is a feed and seed store that has evolved along with the Ninth Street shopping district. Over the years, its customer base has changed: many of hog and tobacco farmers that used to be the bulk of the store's customers have been replaced by the organic gardeners and pet owners that have moved into the area over the past few decades.
Although the store still sells animal feed (including feed for goats and miniature pigs) it's a fair bet that it sells way more organic dog food than it ever did in the good ol' days.
The store also sells lots of lawn and garden supplies, and rents tools including tillers and pressure washers.
