Mr. Desai loves to sing R & B (just call him Noop Dogg!) and said that his friends gave him the push he needed to get him to audition for American Idol.
When Anoop's not singing, he's working toward his Master's degree in folklore at UNC Chapel Hill. He also earned his undergraduate degree, a bachelor's degree in American Studies, from UNC-CH. While on the path toward earning his degree, he wrote an honors thesis entitled "Why Barbecue Matters in the South".
During his time as an undergraduate, he sang with the a capella student singing group Clef Hangers.
