Tammy Biondi

Tammy Biondi is a native of Washington D.C. who, attracted by the excellent quality of life in the Raleigh-Durham area, relocated there in 2000. She loves taking advantage of all the Raleigh-Durham area has to offer, including cultural activities, outdoor recreation, fine dining, and exciting nightlife. She and her husband own and manage Blue Horizon Farm, an organic farm in Chatham County, NC, where Tammy takes full advantage of the Raleigh-Durham area's mild climate and grows vegetables year-round. Tammy also enjoys cooking, quilting, riding her pet horses, and outdoor activities including hiking, canoeing and fishing.

Tammy has written articles that have appeared in print publications including Back Home, Purely Delicious, Pomona and Backyard Living. Her content has also been published on-line at GardenAndHearth.com, where she writes about organic gardening and small farm business opportunities.

Tammy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy from the University of Maryland, College Park and has taken graduate-level courses in agricultural education at NC State University. On the flip side of the educational coin, she has taught crop production and soil science courses at Central Carolina Community College, one of the only colleges in the US that offers a degree in sustainable farming.

The Raleigh-Durham area is a great place to live, work, and raise a family. I love living here and I'm eager to show off my adopted hometown's amazing people, places and activities.
