Take a Tour of Raleigh's Good Eats

Wednesday May 21, 2008
Summer vacation season is almost upon us, but the word around The Triangle is that a lot of vacation time is going to be spent close to home. If you're looking for a way to feel like a tourist without venturing any further afield than downtown Raleigh, you might want to check out The Triangle Food Tour.

The Triangle Food Tour is a three-hour guided walking tour of some of the best eats in Downtown Raleigh. The Triangle Food Tour takes place every Thursday morning: it leaves from Capital City Grocery at 9:00 a.m. sharp, and makes stops at Clyde Cooper's Barbecue, The Duck and Dumpling and several other shining stars in the downtown Raleigh food constellation.

The tour usually costs $38 to go on, but, for the time being, it's being offered at a discounted rate of $28. So, rather than spend another Thursday morning wishing you were at the beach (or Peru, Alaska, or anywhere other than Raleigh/Durham), put on your walking shoes, explore your hometown, and find out for yourself whether barbecue is good breakfast food.

Reservations are recommended, and can be made online or by calling (919) 319-5674. If you've already been on the tour, please let me know how it went!
