It's Raleigh's Version of the Tony Awards

Monday May 19, 2008
High school theater programs from across Wake County will be honored at tonight's NC Theatre Capital Awards ceremony. The awards ceremony, a black tie affair featuring performances by outstanding local high school actors and actresses, as well as awards presentations, is going to be held at The Raleigh Memorial Auditorium tonight at 7:30 p.m.

Awards are going to be presented in 17 categories, including Outstanding Leading Actor and Actress, Outstanding Scenic Design and Outstanding Orchestra.

It's sure to be a great show, will certainly be a night to remember for all of the young actors, actresses, choreographers, set designers, stage crew and musicians who are being acknowledged.

Tickets are available to the general public for $15, and can be purchased from the NC Theatre Box Office, or by phone at (919) 31-6941, extension 6944.

If you're unable to attend tonight's ceremony, you can still catch a glimpse of Wake County's excellent young thespians: The NC Theatre Capital Awards ceremony will be televised and is scheduled to air on local television this summer, premiering on Saturday, July 7 at 10:00 a.m. Check local TV guides, or email info@brianwilliamstv.com for listings.
